Bride-to-be found hanging with married lover a day before wedding in Durgapur

A young man and woman were found hanging from a tree in the Jamgara area of Durgapur-Faridpur Block on Saturday morning, triggering shock across the locality. The deceased were identified as 19-year-old Beauty Bagdi and 23-year-old Sukumar Bagdi. Local residents spotted the bodies hanging from a tree in the early hours of the day and immediately informed the police. Officers reached the scene, recovered the bodies and sent them to Durgapur Sub-Divisional Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The incident occurred just a day before Beauty Bagdi's scheduled wedding. According to local sources, her marriage was set to take place on Sunday and preparations at her home were in full swing. Relatives had already begun arriving for the ceremony when news of the deaths emerged, leaving family members and residents stunned.

According to local accounts, Beauty Bagdi and Sukumar Bagdi had been in a relationship for a long time. However, Sukumar was already married. Sources said that because of this situation, Beauty's family had arranged her marriage to another man. Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths and are examining all aspects of the case.
